There are many types of stoves, and each has its own advantages.
The three most common types of stoves are the open-flame stove, the wood-burning stove, and the gas stove.
Open-flame stoves use a flame to heat up air that is then forced through a pot or oven to cook food. This type of stove is often used in places where there is no access to an indoor fireplace or chimney. Open-flame stoves can be dangerous because they produce a lot of heat and tend to burn things down quickly.
Wood-burning stoves use logs, pieces of wood, or coal to heat up air that is then forced through a pot or oven to cook food. This type of stove is popular in Europe and North America because it is relatively easy to set up and use. Wood-burning stoves produce less heat than open-flame stoves and tend to be more efficient at heating up large areas.
Gas stoves use natural gas or propane to heat up air that is then forced through a pot or oven to cook food. This type of stove is popular in Asia because it is relatively easy to set up and use. Gas stoves produce less heat than open-flame or wood-burning stoves but can be more convenient because they do not require logs or pieces of wood as fuel sources.
When your stove is not heating, there are a few things you can check.
- Check the pilot light. If it does not light, replace the bulb.
- Make sure there is enough fuel in the tank. Check the gauge to make sure there is at least 3/4 of an inch of fuel in the tank.
- Make sure that the igniter cord is plugged in and properly connected to the stovetop gas valve
- Make sure that there is air flow through the vent on top of the stove. The stove may be blocked by something, like a piece of furniture, and need to be unblocked to get proper airflow.
