The different parts of a refrigerator and where they are located:
The Refrigerator Door – This is the front door of the refrigerator that you open to get in and out.
The Fridge Side – This is the side of the refrigerator where all of your food is stored.
The Freezer Side – This is the side of the refrigerator where all of your food is stored if it’s frozen.
The Bottom Compartment – This is a very small section at the bottom of the refrigerator that usually contains only drinks and some perishables like eggs.
The Top Compartment – This is a large section at the top of the refrigerator that usually contains most of your food items.
If your refrigerator is not working, there are a few things you can do to try and diagnose the problem. The first thing to do is to take it off of power and see if the problem goes away. If not, then you can try taking apart the fridge and looking for any broken parts. If all of those fail, you can take it in for repairs.
If you are experiencing freezing issues, one possible cause could be a blocked airflow. To check for this, you can try opening the refrigerator door and see if the problem goes away. If not, you may need to call a technician to take a look.
If the repair is unsuccessful, there are a few things to do in order to try and fix the problem. If the refrigerator is less than one year old, then it may be eligible for a free repair under the manufacturer’s warranty. If not, then you will need to purchase a new refrigerator. The most common repairs that don’t work are the thermistor or defrosting unit.
Check to see if there is water accumulating on the evaporator coil or if ice is forming on the coils of the condenser fan. The easiest way to check this is to remove one of the coils from the condenser fan and shine a light through it. If there is water accumulation on the coil, then you will need to replace the coil. If ice is forming on the condenser fan, then you will need to replace both the defrosting unit and thermistor.
